To the Moon & back

Me, like so many people I know, discovered the wellness world when they were in a deep need of connection, healing and self respect.

I moved to a new city when I was 19 - and honestly I felt so overwhelmed. By all the possibilities but also by me having to take responsibility for my life. I was like: Huh - me? I was a child just a few weeks ago. And now I should think about the interior design of my student apartment. There wasn’t much thinking needed anyways as I didn’t have any money. But the few decisions I had to make? They almost undid me…

I entered the wellness bubble. In the early 2000s.

I found yoga at a very young age and started teaching it without too much thinking about it. It was perfect for my travel lifestyle- it fitted 100%. I liked the people who were there. I clicked instantly. But soon there were a lot of problems: Abusing Gurus came into my life, other travellers that were very much unlike me but said we are all the same and pushed my boundaries, hours of work that got minimal payment but lots of encouraging words.

Un-learning Wellness

I found out that the wellness bubble can damage you in quiet, lasting ways - while the practice, offered by the very people who harmed you, can save your life.

So I found my own way of practicing, my own recipes of energetics, writing and creative practices.

My approach is something in between. I want to talk and inform about all the contradictions. While I still love my own daily practice.

I am a trained Journalist and I always write about what I observe. It’s my way of integrating. So there are a lot of bodies of work in my repertoire, I also do radio pieces and essays. I am currently writing on my book “RUBY” which re-writes the ancient Greek Story of Zeus kidnapping Europa.
